Revising Writing

This week, for our reading task, we had to rewrite a blog post of our choosing, using our peer feedback as a guideline!

To prepare for the rewriting process, I watched the video and read the four articles supplied to us on our course website. I found the articles extremely helpful! I often write long run-on sentences using commas to separate them, but the articles helped me to notice when I’m doing it and fix my punctuation.

My peer feedback was extremely helpful. I ended up doing more research and adding more images, which gave me an even deeper understanding of media literacy! I researched television vs. internet usage worldwide and the use of memes in advertising. I hadn’t really looked into those topics before, but I was shocked when I learned that there’s more than double the amount of internet users than there are television owners! I always thought that more people owned a TV, so it really helped to put things into perspective!

All in all, I found the peer feedback and rewriting process really useful. I feel like I have a better understanding of the topic I wrote about, as well as a better understanding of writing.
